I can’t believe we’re at week five of Wednesday Weekly Journal, and they’re just as fun as ever. This week has been fantastic and I really feel like I’m hitting a major stride professionally. I’ve gotten to see some good friends, had some great conversations and enjoy the great outdoors, from the safety of the pavement where ticks do not dwell. I had my first (and last) tick a few weeks ago and am oh-so grossed out that I’ve totally changed the way that I deal with the outside during the warmer months. Gross.

Recipe of the Week

If you’ve never had Everything Bagel Chicken, you’re seriously missing out. I do FASTer Way to Fat Loss, and Mondays and Tuesdays are low carb days. This is one of my all-time favorite low carb recipes that would be great for Keto too. My version of this recipe, though, is: slice the chicken breast in to tenders, egg wash, seasoning, place in air fryer, spray with canola oil and air fry at 350 for 15 minutes. I eat it with cream cheese and bacon and major yum.

Currently Drinking

OK, not the prettiest photo in the world, but I met up with a friend in Virginia on Sunday and I had a spicy bloody. I can never finish them because they’re so filling and rich but man, was this good.

Currently Watching

The Babysitters Club on Netflix! I’m gushing because it’s giving me all the throwbacks. I was ob-sessed with these books growing up and would often beg my dad to let me borrow the (horribly cheesy) video renditions of the books from the library. I will say that the transgender kid episode did bother me. I personally don’t think kids (who often can’t remember to grab their lunch boxes) should be making life-altering decisions about gender at such young ages and the BSB episode about it was more than slightly idealistic (and double-standard) in my ways.

Currently Reading

Words cannot express how much I loved this book and it’s definitely at the top of my list for 2020 so far. I HIGHLY recommend it–it’s basically about Lincoln and his presidency but it reads like a novel. It’s fantastic and it’s only $3 on Amazon right now.

Currently Listening

The She Did It Hear Way Podcast has been KILLING it lately. The host, Amanda Boleyn is a fellow midwesterner who really knows her ish. I love the way that she interviews successful women and also how she provides valuable training in her solocasts. I’ve been an avid listener for years but have only recently become a religious, can’t miss it, fan.

This Week’s Adventures

Well, I came back to DC after being in Ohio last Monday only to turn around and go back to Ohio Thursday night to look at more potential income properties. It’s been a bit of a saga to say the least and I’m SO thankful my parents don’t live any farther away from me than they do. The drive isn’t bad, but it’s a bit of a doozy doing it twice in one week.

Pizza from one of my favorite pizza places in CLE, Antonio’s

During my brief stint back here in DC, Jim and I hosted a little cookout get-together with a few of his friends. What is is about a burger grilled outside that makes it SO good? For real.

I met up with a friend in DC and we walked around the National Mall and got Chipotle. ‘Twas a great summer evening.

Hobbies This Week

I’ve been experimenting with other smoothie recipes so much that I’m pretty sure that’s going to be my blog post topic tomorrow. I tend to fall in to the same habit over and over again and expanding my horizon has been a good (and delicious) thing.

I went to HomeGoods and got a little hut for the boys. I think them in there is kinda cute. And yes, shopping is indeed a hobby ;).

I’m still doing designs in Cricut but haven’t made anything this week. We shall see…

Other Things to Note

I’m on a bit of a watermelon kick. I thought I didn’t like it and one just called my name at Whole Foods this week.. Anyone else a fan?

Have you ever had the Costco street tacos? For real–why are they SO GOOD?

That’s all for this week! I hope you’re having a fabulous Wednesday, friends!
