Hello hello and welcome back to another edition of the Wednesday Weekly Journal. Last week , I alluded to the fact that I’m working on buying an investment property and, well, let’s just say that it’s been more of a process than I expected. For obvious reasons, I can’t give much detail but it’s overall been quite stressful and I’m looking forward to having this whole debacle behind me.

Other than that, it’s been a pretty good week. Enjoy!

Recipe of the Week:

So, I went to Rito’s Bakery to buy a cassata cake for the SOLE PURPOSE of taking a photo of it for this post aaaaand I totally forgot and ate it all. Hopefully if I give MAJOR CREDIT TO THE CINCINNATI NEWS SOURCE that posted this, they won’t get mad. Please don’t get mad!

Have I ever made cassata cake? Nope.. Because why would you when you can buy it in Cleveland? WELL, you can pretty much only get it in Cleveland because it was invented in Cleveland and I don’t always live in Cleveland so do you see my kerfuffle?

This is all to say that yes, this is the recipe of the week because I intend on making on real soon when I’m back in DC and in the meantime while I’m still in CLE, I’ll be enjoying several.

I will also note that there is a fantastic recipe (along with many others) in my favorite baking cookbook, Midwest Made.

Currently drinking:

No lawz. Do I particularly like it? Um, nope. But I *do* like that when I drink it, I’m not massively hung over the next day and I don’t feel extremely bloated like I do when I drink brews.

Currently watching:

Whyyyyyy? This is so sickeningly interesting. We’re only on the first episode and wow. Very disturbing.

Currently reading:

I just finished this and it was fantastic:

And am currently reading this and like is so far. It’s about the ecological history of the Great Lakes which may or may not be your thing, but I’m a fan.

Currently listening:

If you know, you know.

This week’s adventures:

And an adventure it has been!

I was godmama to my sweet nephew who was baptized this week!

And we are getting to spend lots of time with family…

We ate a lot of caloric food, which is very par for the course in Cleveland…

I finally tried a frosted animal cookie Blizzard from DQ and it was amazing..

And ventured up to the lake.

Hung out during tummy time.

And sitting up time.

Hobbies this week:

I brought my Cricut to Cleveland with me but have only done a few little projects.

I have been passing the time by reading, walking around Hobby Lobby, taking my sister and BIL’s mastiff and beating Jim in bowling.

Favorite blog posts:

Other things to note:

I’m considering an Ancestery dot com membership. Thoughts? That ish isn’t cheap.

This happened on my favorite island. Ahem…

And here’s a cute photo of Cannoli. Don’t judge his lack of a haircut.
