Even though it is freezing and I’m writing this wearing an oversized sweater and leggings, spring is around the corner and I’m here for it.

I was in Houston this past weekend and spent an afternoon at my friends’ club where people were SWIMMING and LAYING IN THE SUN. I got green with envy.

So, instead of wallowing in self pity, here I am reminding myself that I *do* live in a cool area and will make the most of spring in DC. Here we go…

Visit the Natural History Smithsonian.

I, quite literally, have not stepped foot in a Smithsonian since 2019. Even that time was for a party, though, and I really didn’t get to see it. Now that renovations are (supposedly) completed at the dinosaur museum, I need to get back there and see it.

Take some cheery blossom pictures with Jim

Because what’s another dozen or so? Yes, we already have tons from years past but I just love them and think they’re gorgeous.

Go to Fredericksburg via Train

I can’t help it. I adore that sweet little town and always wind up with some great antique finds when I visit. After chirping about my trips so much, Jim said he wants to go with me some time so it’s happening this spring!

Go back to Gettysburg.

For some annoying reason, I feel like I’m rushed every time I go to Gettysburg. This spring I want to go early, do a bus tour, have lunch, mosey around some shops perhaps and maybe even do a night time ghost tour.

Make Easter Bread

These take time and patience but I love continuing a long-standing Ziccardi family tradition of making Easter bread. I usually send some to my great auntie, my grandmother’s only living sibling 🙂

Make Easter gifts for my clients

I am eternally grateful to my clients for their reliability this year and Iove being able to show my appreciation! Last year I made personalized dish towels on my Cricut for each family and am still deciding on what to do this year for them.

Try five new dinner recipes.

My cooking game had been quite sad lately and I need to up the inspiration. Here’s what I’m thinking:

… And five new lunch recipes.

I love how summer-y these look and can’t wait to try them!

Get my lake condo ready for a summer of fun.

I’m craving a summer at the lake like it’s no one’s business. I’m going up to Ohio for a First Communion in May and I plan on going to the condo to buy supplies, check on things and be ready to for summer to commence in June.

Visit the Frederick Breweries

This is easy to have on my list because it’s already on my calendar, but I always relish in a chance to visit Frederick and enjoy some very good beers!

Go back to Lost Barrel and Bear Chase Breweries

Speaking of beer, I love these breweries not just for the beer but also the gorgeous ambiance. They’re both in the Virginia mountains and it’s SO pretty out there.

Go to the Beach

Even though I blissfully spend the summers on Lake Erie, I do also enjoy a little jaunt to Ocean City or Rehoboth. Since May is still technically still spring, I’m adding that goal here too.

Rent a Boat at the Wharf

A little Junior League promotion put a great boat rental company on my radar and I love going for rides. When the weather gets warm, you’ll know where to find me.

I have a good feeling about this spring and am sooo looking forward to the weather being consistently warm. What’s on your spring bucket list?
