Now that things are somewhat back in full swing, I am ready to set my intentions and goals for the year. Getting in to the new year has been a challenge. The school I work at didn’t start back until the 10th, Covid is everywhere and (oh darn!) we are going to be having snow days galore!
In case you haven’t set you intentions, allow me to inspire you to do so! Yes, even now…
Utilize a paper planner.
It took me a while to realize this but paper planners and Google Calendar are *not* mutually exclusive. I put client meetings in my Google Calendar so it syncs with theirs and I use my paper planner to meal plan, blog plan, create to-do lists and plan out my workouts. I keep it open on my desk all day so I’m constantly reminded of what I need to do that day…
Visit a new state
I mentioned in my travel recap that I intend to see a new state every year until I hit all 50. I’m currently missing 19. I’m *thinking* a New England trip might be in order, but we shall see.
Grow my LLC by at Least Two Contractors
This is a lofty goal but I’m putting it out here in the hopes that it holds me accountable. I founded my LLC officially in 2021 after a bit of a tumultuous period… and I haven’t looked back for a second. Part of my weakness as a professional is that I have a very difficult time delegating, which is largely why I’m always so busy. I’d like to outsource some of my work to contractors to free up more time for myself as well as just use my professional time more wisely.
Provide Two Professional Development Trainings
I’m in a very niche market but I know I’m not alone. I LOVE teaching educators (teachers, paras, homeschool moms) how to do their jobs better and I’d love to get on some PD calendars in 2022.
Move
On a personal note, I’m officially DONE with Montgomery County Maryland. Working on the Virginia side has shed a light on how different the two states can be and I’m ready to leave this terrible state. Granted, Maryland as a whole isn’t all *that* bad (it’s just The People’s Republic of Montgomery County, if you will) but Virginia is far superior. So is Florida. And Ohio. I don’t know where said move will be, but I’m SO ready for a change. At the time of writing, my preference is to stay in the area, but that changes by the day. Time will tell!
