Recipe Exchange!

Two years ago, I hosted a recipe exchange that was a HUGE success.  Honestly, I still cook some of the recipes I got at that exchange.  It’s so fun because not only do you get fantastic recipes, you know whether or not you like them! Anyway, this year’s theme was breakfast.  Who doesn’t LOVE breakfast food, right?  Some people make a fancy breakfast for Thanksgiving or Christmas morning, so I…

A Few of My Favorite Things

I love love LOVE Christmas time and the relaxation that comes with it.  I make it my personal mission every year to be finished with Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving, so I’m just ready to carpe the Christmas season. And, yes, fellow Catholics, I know Christmas doesn’t start until December 25..  SO What It Means to Be a Christian by Joseph Ratzinger is my annual Advent read, and I can’t recommend…

Mardi Gras Recipe Roundup and Blog Status!

I feel like I’ve lamented this a bazillion times, but I seriously don’t know how people can keep up with a blog AND have a full time career..  It’s impressive, don’t get me wrong, but let’s be honest–my job comes first.  Plus, I will admit that I have a really, really cool job, so that is not the least bit burdensome. So, here we go: Another attempt at getting regular…

Christmas in Strongsville

A blog archive from Christmas 2014!   Dear Friends, Total Strangers, And Everyone In Between, As this season of Advent comes to a close, I would like to wish you a most blessed Christmas.  I’m here  in my hometown of Strongsville, OH where the Commons’ Light Display (below) is in full swing.  I’ve been running in to old friends left and right and am so thankful to be with family,…

Christmas in DC: Botanical Gardens

A few weekends ago, I went with a friend to the US Botanical Gardens to see their famous Seasons Greenings display.  While really cool and beautiful, I have to admit that I was a teensy bit disappointed.  It took us all of 30 minutes (if that) to walk through. I did really love the lighthouse display, though.  I’ve always had a thing for lighthouses, as anyone who has been to Lake Erie…

CLbrate Christmas

Blog archive from Christmastime 2014… No, the title is not a type-o. On Friday, the DC area of Communion and Liberation (CL) came together for our annual Christmas soiree…  When the area responsible asked me to help coordinate, I gladly jumped on board..  OK, so it totally stressed me out, but, ya know, it was well worth it.  A good time was had by all, myself included.   What is…

Castle Noel

Ohmygosh. You guys. Who knew that such a cool place would be in little ol’ Medina, OH?   Castle Noel opened last year… It’s a Christmas museum, and is, well, amazing. Being a DC girl now, I’m very critical of museums.  Castle Noel is beautiful and well-done, but still has a long way to go.  The exhibits lack flow, and is in severe need of a curator..  Or, if they already…

Cookie Recipe!!!

Every so often I have a stroke of culinary genius… This weekend brought about one of those times. I was invited to a potluck dinner on Saturday, and at potlucks, my competitive edge tends to always show. I needed a showstopper, the best… Although many of the other dishes were impeccable, I must say that my Candy Cane JoeJoe Stuffed Cookies were what people were talking about… Perhaps because it…

Little Pumpkin-Themed Sip N’ See

Here’s a blog archive from a Sip N’ See I threw for a baby who’s now in kindergarten.  Time flies!!   So, I made a resolution that I feel the need to share. I am overcommitted, and need to cut back in areas of my life. I have made it my personal goal to blog two times a week. If I happen to blog more than that, great. But, for…
