Here’s another reminiscing blog post.. Here’s what I wrote when I visited Vienna as a carefree 20-year old, and where 7:30 was an unbearable hour and words like, “nast” were everyday jargon…  Awww…

Ohmygosh, I seriously think I have witnessed the most AMAZING place on earth. Vienna, Austria is GORGEOUS! We boarded the busses at 7:30 a.m. yesterday (gag) to begin the 2.5 hour excurstion to Austria’s capital city. On the way, there were many curves and bumps, and right as I was about to fall asleep, the kid across the aisle from me puked. Then, a little while later, another kid puked toward the front of the bus. Not fun. Anyway, our first stop was a church overlooking the vast city os Vienna. We got out, had Mass, and took some free time to explore the grounds. I had the reigon’s speciality, apple streudel. mmmmm. I highly recommend.

We then drove down to the actual city where we had dinner at the Augistiener Keller. I think that’s spelled right. FINALLY, I enjoyed my food. As many of you know, I’m a very picky eater. I think I’ve lost weight already cuz the food here is nast.

After lunch, we took a walking tour of the city. I have never felt so small in my life. The churches and the buildings and the statues are well, amazing. We went into two churches: St. Peter’s and St. Stephen’s. St. Peter’s is baroque style, and honestly, the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I literally almost started crying when I walked in there. For 1600 years, a Mass has been celebrated on the site of St. Peter’s every day. That’s quite a track record! Just to see something that is so old, and has so many stories and traditions is the most humbling thing in the world. It was simply breath-taking.

I’m sure you will all find this very surprising, but I went shopping after the tour;-). I came thisclose to buying a baby Louis Vuitton, but I decided against it. If I’m going to splurge like that, it’s not going to be until the end of my semester.

That’s about all for now. Happy Sunday! I have the flu, so I think I’m going to go back to bed. Love and prayers!
