As summer starts to wind down, I thought I’d share a little bit of my former office decor back when I worked on the Virginia side of DC.  It was a cute little office, if I do say so myself…  To all of my fellow educators, I hope you’re as ready to see your kiddos as I am!

I am far from an artist, but I absolutely need to have a beautiful space to work in.  It keeps me sane.  It makes my life happier.

So, when I first started pinning school office decor ideas, I knew I eventually had to incorporate chalkboard art..  Then, I chickened out.  I didn’t think I could do it.  Alas, one day I womaned up, had my phone with an example in one hand and a piece of chalk in the other, and ta daa!  Chalkboard art.  God bless Pinterest.

I always make an effort to decorate for Christmas.  Aside from the obvious celebrating the Lord’s birth, I also absolutely love how excited the students get during this time of year.. Sure, they’re bouncing off the walls (and I constantly remind them that Santa is watching), but it’s a sweet time of year…  And, let’s be honest, every girl should have a pink Christmas tree at some point in her life..

If I do say so myself, I really like the posters… I made them myself (#modesty)…  Fun fact: if you really like a quote, generate it on a program and simply print it from a place like FedEx Office or Vistaprint.  The frames are from Ikea.

Here are the quotes:

– “The word reality is to the word education like destination is to a journey.” – Fr. Luigi Giussani (From The Risk of Education)

– “Let us read and let us dance; these two amusements never did any harm to the world.” -Voltaire

– “Keep Calm and Read On”

– The rug is from Ikea (less them $20..  And they’re still there)

– Blue chairs are from Target (last spring)

– Alphabet is from Hobby Lobby

What does your work space look like?  Does it keep you motivated?  I hope so!
