Sorry for my lag in posting.. I was beyond sick for almost a week.  I don’t get sick, but apparently the “warranty expires” after 30.  Happy to say I’m on the mend, and excited to share something fun with y’all today.

Guys, this is NOT a sponsored post…  I sincerely, completely and with all of my heart mean what I’m about to say.

I really like Home Chef.  I’ve tried some other of the sort (Blue Apron and Green Chef), and Home Chef is my favorite by far.  Why?  Because the recipes are just complex enough to feel like you’re tuning in to your inner Paula Dean/Emeril/Gordon Ramsay, but easy enough to where you’re not spending two hours preparing dinner, which is a complaint I had with Blue Apron.  Even though Blue Apron’s meals are excellent, the recipes are way too complex to make on a typical weeknight.  Another advantage of Home Chef is that you can opt to do only two meals per week, which is, frankly, all I have time for anyway (plus it makes it more affordable).  Also, the meals are a little bigger than Blue Apron, so there might be leftovers on occasion.

My mom had sent me a trial box, so I chose Chicken Piccata and Chicken and Dumplings..  Oh, that’s another thing. There are SO many recipes to choose from.  With my being a “poultry-tarian,” and with it being Lent, there were plenty of poultry and vegetarian dishes to choose from, not to mention plenty of seafood and meat dishes too.

I **cringe** did not take pictures of the Chicken Piccata, but it was uh-mazingggg.  I had a friend over on Saturday, and we ate it while watching Tangled (I’m on a little Disney kick ever since doing the Enchanted 10k a few weeks ago).  The meal took only about 25 minutes to prepare, and it was so so soooo good.  I never knew I liked capers…

Last Tuesday, my stud muffin came over, and I made the Chicken and Dumplings.  This recipe was a little more complex than the Chicken Piccata, so I chopped the veggies the night before to save time.  Once that was all done, though, it was all of 20 minutes until show time, and the Chicken and Dumplings were delicioussss.  TRUST me when I say that I’ll be making these babies again real soon.

Try Home Chef.  You won’t be sorry.  Yummmm.
