Gosh, I can’t believe this was all more than four years ago!  Time flies!  2012 was a great year, but I’m confident 2017 will be great too!

I did precisely what I absolutely, positively, told myself I would certainly never do in 2013: I justified ice cream because I ran at one point in my life.  So now I am sitting in my living room, roommates all snug as bugs, sipping ginger tea, considering the wonderful world of exercise bulimia as I stare at a P90X DVD set, which I’ve only gotten so far as moving it away from me with my toe.  I’m sure that burnt off a few calories, right?

That’s totally off topic from what I wanted to write about.

Since I fell off Planet Blog for quite some time, I did not get to write my typical end-of-the-year thankful post.  Sooo, I’m going to go ahead and do that now.  Below see the things I am most grateful for from 2012.  Overall, it really was a great year.

1. Wedding Belles!

This year was busy.  Really, really, busy.  As I mentioned about a million times, I had the distinct honor of being up close and involved in four dear friends’ weddings in 2012 as a bridesmaid.  They were incredible, and I loved every moment of each of them, running mascara and all.  They were friends all from different stages in my life, and it really showed me how blessed I am to have maintained so many beautiful and meaningful friendships throughout the years.  Heather I’ve known since preschool, and we grew up as family friends.  Angela I went to grade school and high school with, but our friendship really grew in high school and college.  Jessica I met in youth group, and rekindled things late in college, when I visited NYC.  Now, we see each other frequently, as we are now only a few hours from one another (and we all know how much I LOVE NYC).  Finally, Lindsay and I met in college and have been like sisters ever since.

2. Travel

I went to three new places in 2012: Rockport, Massachusetts; Cozumel, Mexico; and Loretto, PA.  While my travel log isn’t as extensive as I may have liked for it to be (see thankful post #1), these were all places I had wanted to see..  And loved deeply upon arrival.

3. Family and Friends

I am obviously not ranking these in any specific order, because this is undoubtedly the most important.  I am a people person.  I like people a whole lot, and am thankful to the gift that each is to me.

4. Accomplishing More Than I Ever Thought I Could

I’m a runner now.  It’s insane, but true.  I’ve never felt better, and I’m looking forward to my upcoming races (13.1 on April 28!!!)

That’s it for photo collages, but I would like to add a few honorable mentions to my thankful list.  They include, but are not limited to:

my Catholic Faith, alumni meetings that run way too long from small talk; Chick Fil A Sauce, ginger tea, UVA, awesome professors, knitting, Clinique mascara, Mary Kay mascara, my jobs, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Rep. Paul Ryan (for keeping the election season sexy), the people I’ve met through the youth group I help with; Junior League, snail mail, Emi-Jays, Paul Mitchell Strength Shampoo, jalapeno hummus from Trader Joe’s; Trader Joe’s in general; my dog, the teensy adoration chapel I get to go to, a blessed Lenten retreat in the Virginia mountains, wineries, chocolate, new life, Tory Burch shoes, OPI nail polish, Pinterest, my Crock Pot, new blog discoveries, down pillows, beef brisket, writing, boats, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Ohio State Buckeyes, fake eyelashes, Skype dates, Modcloth.com, Justin Beiber, my country, and, we mustn’t forget fuzzy socks.
