Winter Storm (Nick) Jonas

Like any good basic white girl, I do enjoy any reference to pop culture. Y’all.  I survived.  It was rough, but I made it with plenty of fat stored up for the rest of winter and jello arms from shoveling. So, here’s what happened on Wednesday night: It was a hot mess dot com.  DC folks canNOT handle even a little sprinkle of snow.  I lucked out.  Even though I…

How to be a Voracious Reader

If we’ve ever had a voice-on-voice conversation, odds are, you’ve heard me mention at least one of the following: 1) The OverDrive App 2) The book, ‘Generation Me’ by Jeanne Twenge.  (life-changer) 3) My dog, Cannoli. 4) Some sort of education philosophy (and by complete hate for the Montessori cult) 5) The latest thing I learned about alternative medicine including, but not limited to: milk thistle, biotin, ginger tea, yoga,…

Live Like Paul: A Year Later

This marks the one-year mark since Paul Coakley left this world for the next.. I never knew him directly; I’m sure we interacted a time or two because of all the mutual friends we had, but were never friends.  However, I think I speak for many of my fellow alumni when I say that he touched my life in a profound way. Looking back on what I wrote a year…
